Craig Turner

Craig is the Director of FBC and has 45 years’ experience in the New Zealand building industry, practising project management, quantity surveying, consulting on the condition of problematic buildings, and dispute resolution.

Having trained as a joiner carpenter, Craig attained a NZ Certificate in Quantity Surveying (NZCQS) and commenced an NZCE (Civil). Later qualifications include National Diplomas in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management.


Craig has significant experience on how to determine workable and compliant practical solutions that ensure better building performance and greater weathertightness. He has the expertise and precision to provide advice and guidance as a quantity surveyor. Craig also has substantial knowledge and experience as a building expert in the preparation and presentation of evidence in legal proceedings.


His candid and straight-forward approach coupled with his experience in the New Zealand construction industry underlies sound, sensible solutions for your project.

Nick Riedel

Nick is an experienced building surveyor with the relevant NZQA qualifications to resolve problematic issues encountered throughout residential and commercial buildings in New Zealand. He is a licenced member of the Building Officials Institute of NZ and an Auckland branch executive member.


His background as a carpenter and previous experience as a Territorial Authority Building Surveyor specialising in weathertightness, enables him to be uniquely positioned to knowledgeably comment on Council policy and procedures, building compliance and performance, construction industry practice and compliant rectification methods. With over 25 years in this industry, Nick’s broad expertise is crucial for building owners, construction workers and insurers.


Nick is effective at maintaining positive relationships with all parties involved, ensuring successful workable projects that more than achieve their objectives.

Ramon Kaire

Ramon is a qualified Architectural Designer with over 15 years of New Zealand construction industry experience. His successful projects include new architecturally designed homes, residential renovations, weathertight remediation, multi-residential, commercial and education properties. He is the lead designer for our architectural team.


Ramon’s background of 20 years in Mechanical and Sheetmetal Engineering working on big construction sites has undoubtedly provided the technical design aspects required for problem solving, designing difficult details and removing high-risk low-value features when undertaking solutions for adaptation and remediation projects, which he enjoys.


His vast knowledge and thorough understanding of New Zealand building codes and standards has enabled him to skilfully take his projects from concept development through to completion successfully. A proactive team player, communication is Ramon’s strength; his ability to work with Clients, Contractors, Consultants and the Territorial Authorities, delivers great results.

Matthew Bayly

Matthew is an Architectural Designer with over 7 years of New Zealand construction industry experience in the areas of Architectural Design, Project Management, Building Condition Surveying, and resource consent applications.


Having completed his studies at the University of Auckland and later graduating with a Master of Architecture (Professional) qualification endorsed with Honors, his primary area of expertise and focus since, has been the remediation of leaky buildings. His considerable industry exposure and first-hand experience investigating and remediating buildings that suffer from weathertightness failures has complimented his ability to design buildings that will stand up to the test of time.


Matthew is proficient at developing positive relationships with all clients and contractors with the ability to navigate obstacles, resulting in consistently successful projects.

Maxim Brown

Maxim is qualified Architectural Designer with over 7 years of New Zealand construction experience.  His successful projects include new build multi-residential townhouses, weathertight remediation and alterations for both residential and commercial buildings.


Having completed his studies at Unitec in 2013, Maxim has developed excellent working knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and regulatory framework.  As an experienced designer Maxim is able to successfully interpret client briefs and develop comprehensive construction documentation from the original design concept, through to building consent and on-site construction monitoring.


Maxim’s expertise lies in the realisation of architecture; with emphasis on clarity, quality and practicality.  He pays close attention to details, exploring every corner of the design while applying an understanding of how materials behave and cooperate.  Maxim is an advanced detailer who enjoys resolving complex junctions to ensure optimized building performance and prevention of building failure
